So, finally on Vacation and learning how to drive. Woooohoooo! Today was my second day of learning how to drive. Yesterday, mom and I had an errand to run, and then she pulls over and tries to get me to drive (WITH NO EXPERIENCE) on the road. My Nerves were shot. I was lurching the car and had no idea what I was doing and her raising her voice and telling me to do 3 things at once was NOT HELPFUL IN THE SLIGHTEST!
So we went into a field that her landlady owns and said we could use to get the feel of the car. After about an hour I started to get the hang of it and we called it quits. My mom also got in touch with my older bro to give me a lesson today.
So back me and him went into the field and he had me going 60 km, doing better turns, giving me pointers, and taught me how to reverse (which still needs work). He was very patient. He didn't raise his voice and he only talked to give me pointers (he went through with dad what I'm going through with mom)
Anyway, we went to get the car washed and he took another route which had a dirt road, since I was ready for that before I transition into the actual road. Again I was doin the turns proper, which was easier when I could actually define where I was meant to keep the car (the field being too wide). And I was comfortable enough to drive at a faster speed (60 km) and taking the turns with more ease. (My brother did not once make me feel nervous because he didn't think I could do it. And if he did, he kept it to himself, which is what he told mom to do)
So I try the dirt road again with mom awhile later and I was going 60 and mom starts yelling in my ear. Slow down, don't take the turns so fast. Watch out! On and on, til I had enough and told her to ZIP IT! She was making me nervous by talking so much. I had to concentrate. So we did a few runs and she eventually shut up, but the damage was done; she got me so nervous I dropped the speed to 40. However, I think I am making good progress. In a few days I will be ready to take on the road.
And next time, I'll bring a muzzle for my mom.
