Luckily the power hadn't gone out once, though the internet was wonky for most of the day and the house was a bit cold. Soo Happy I have a space heater in my room.
The Blizzard is set to continue until morning so it is not over yet. And due to the blowing snow, there are drifts 1-2 feet deep as of roughly 6pm. I'll post an update later as I want to get back into playing my Castaways.

Well so far one good thing is no work. The Blizzard of 2013 is here and it's only the beginning so far as this is supposed to go into Sunday. As Promised I will post updates as long as I don't lose power. I am going back to bed for a bit I think and then I'm gonna play my Castaway Challenge and post an update on it later tonight (as long as I have power). I will also post more piccies of outside as it worsens or lessens (worsens).
Take a look at the night before (just before midnight) and early this morning (just after 6:30am) Yup, a DOUBLE storm System is due to hit my area here in Canada at midnight tonight. Just about 5 hours away. It's been friken cold all day. The Storm system that is currently on the East Coast in the Boston area is making its way here and the storm in Toronto that is the worst they have seen since 2008 is also heading its way here which means they are going to MERGE and land down on the Maritmes (the Atlantic region). It is supposed to be as bad as White Juan.
I am supposed to work tomorrow morning but that may be a write off depending on weather conditions (the store will most likely close as not many of us live IN the capital but on it's outskirts). Luckily I live on the main residential road in town so my road will be one of the first plowed and salted. For everyone living on the East Coast (US or Canada) stay safe and don't go outside if you don't have to. I'll definitely be staying home tomorrow if it's really bad (may have to if cabs aren't running anyway and for some odd reason they open the store). Part of me hopes it will fizzle out and lose some of it's power before it hits here. Part of me is very skeptical that that is even a possibility. I am charging my phone and if the power does not go out, I will post updates with how bad it looks outside. if you don't hear from me, assume the power has gone out. You're probably wondering how the Pay it Forward post could have more to the story unless the person tracked me down and gave me a cash reward
O.O No, stop dreaming. So apparently, after I concluded my business at the ATM, cuz I was paying rent and I needed to withdraw 50s and I had noticed that the ATM went out of service while they put the money back IN THE WRONG ACCOUNT. More specifically, in MY account. Yup that's right the bank gave the money to the last person who used it (me) instead of checking who it properly belonged to. There IS a camera pointed at the ATM. It's called the rewind button people! So anyway, before I went to work on Monday that just passed I was going to transfer some money to my savings account for my Car Insurance, since April is coming up soon and noticed I had a credit adjustment of $500!!!!! So, I called my bank and told them of the error they had made and that the money most definitely did NOT belong to me and who the person was who should have gotten the credit. I mean three days had passed and I'm sure the person was freaking out over their lost money. $500 is a lot for anyone to lose. They told me it could possibly take up to 10 days for the money to be taken off, and I refused to take money out, even to transfer the funds I know I had cuz BAD KARMA. I was told that since the money found it's way to me twice I should keep it, but in the next breath the person told someone else of the wonderful thing I did. yeah yeah, I get it! Luckily, when I checked today, the money was taken out the same day I called, so HOPEFULLY this time the money made it's way back to the proper owner. And to BG's comment, some people see an opportunity and take it without weighing the pros and cons or if they do, say screw it anyway. And Mares, I do agree that Canadians have a more Open-door policy and are very welcoming of others. Not saying all Canadians are. In places like Toronto (where my mom's family is residing) they are very closed off from each other and their neighbours. I hate visiting them. So when my mom's sister visited us, she was first blown away by the rural area and slight urban city. We're very behind the times here because we're such a small capital. Then she was blown away that a complete stranger offered to take our picture so we could all get in and how courteous everyone was. And she (a big City Gal) got right into Cattle penning, haha! And we often hear stories from those gone back packing in Europe where if you wear a Canadian Flag, you are met with such a warm welcome, whereas if you're a US citizen . .not so much. How true that is, I could only imagine, but I wouldn't trade living anywhere else. |
