The Shaw Household
The home they live in isn't quite big enough for Emiliana, Halo and the three Unicorns. But Emiliana can't just abandon them after rescuing them, having lost their mother, and with the bond she is developing with each animal, she plans to take the Equestrian World by storm in breeding, racing, jumping, cross country - everything expected of a world renowned horse rancher, or rather she WILL be, someday. This is their tiny home. Well, for a family of their size.
First though, she needs to get her riding skills up. She's quite nervous being on Starla, especially when Starla takes off galloping. "Whoa! Starla! Whoa!" Emiliana exclaimed, slowing Starla down to a much more manageable trot.
Emiliana was happy for Starla's endless patience. She knows she was a nervous wreck, but Starla took it in stride and didn't allow her inexperienced rider to spook or agitate her.
When Emiliana heard there was going to be a racing competition, she signed them up for it. She wanted to test their mettle so they knew what areas to work on. They came last.
"So a lot then," Emiliana murmured to Starla, with earned a neigh in agreement.
Not letting it discourage her, Emiliana and Starla practiced in between looking after Halo and the two foals.
Even in the rain. Emiliana's confidence began to grow and it seemed as though Starla trusted her more and was becoming faster and more agile.
Later that same week, Emiliana and Starla won $400 for placing second in a racing competition and $25 for placing 6th in a jumping competition. Not near enough to move out of their current home, but it was a start as they both continue to work on their bond.
Of course the foals needed attention too. Emiliana thought it best to get their training started early by leading them around the surrounding area of her small ranch.
It was made easier as Frosticle would follow Cinnamon everywhere, but Frosticle still needed to get used to the bridle since Cinnamon wouldn't always been in the same race as her. She also needed to learn to trust Emiliana if she was to ever enter any Equestrian competitions.
And of course it wouldn't do to have Goldie not receive any training, so Emiliana taught her how to hunt. Who knows, maybe Goldie will find some valuable stuff so that they could move into a bigger ranch sooner.
While the young ones were training with Emiliana, Starla decided to spend the day practicing to jump. There was a competition coming up and Starla wanted to do her best for her rider.
The jumps did pay off, and the pair ended up in second place, but in the racing competition, Emiliana and Starla took home the gold.
In Part two, the pair tackle a jumping course. Will Starla lose her nerve?
It was a bright sunny day and the residents of Storybrook just started to awaken. We peek in on the Kennedy household.
The founder of this family is Emillye Kennedy (my simself) who married Connor (now Colin) Frio and their children starting with the eldest: Seth, Tayme and Ollie. The little girl used to be Seth's imaginary friend, now brought to life, her name is Vanilla.
Their pet dog is Halo and their young horse is Wilder. Vanilla had seen the young foal walking along the road, neighing softly, looking for his mother. Vanilla befriended the colt and brought him home. Colin and Emillye accepted it as they accepted a doll brought to life and a mummy, so why not a foal, but told Vanilla she had to be the one to look after him.
The Mummy, Adamnus, followed Emillye home after one of her many adventures in a sarcophagus she brought back with her. He made quick friends with the brave Emillye, but loves to scare Colin whenever he can.
Emillye and her family used to live in Sunset Valley before settling in Storybrook. She used to be a CEO of a Mega Corporation but has since retired while Adamnus works as a organ donor (weird but ok) and Colin is a professional gardener.
Seth, Tayme, Colin and Emillye went to the summer festival and decided to get into a water balloon fight. Despite Tayme and Colin (who makes the BEST faces) getting hit with balloons, in the end they were the ones who won.
As a consolation, Seth treated himself to a sno cone.
We move over to peek in on Maveryn Castle. A witch of mysterious origin with the mark of a vampire, but no vampiric powers. Perhaps dormant inside of her, Maveryn lives in the woods away from the town and normally can be found in her Magics shop or telling a sim their fortune when not at home.
Maveryn is not evil and nor is she good, she is an alchemist at heart and a brewer of potions. Oftentimes, she is misunderstood, because of the fortunes she bestows on others. Heed her words or don't, it's your life.
Her household consists of herself, her Armored Black Dragon, Wicked, and her kitten, Mags. They are her most trusted friends. She just doesn't believe she'll ever be more than the scary old witch of the town. Someone you go to when you need a little magical helping hand. And so she brews.
And hones her magical skill, for whatever may come her way.
Maveryn, not having the money to hire a salesclerk, tends her cash herself. It's not the best part of the job, but Maveryn is hopeful she can earn enough money to hire a salesclerk, so she can do what she likes best, telling fortunes.
Although oftentimes, the townsfolk don't really believe Maveryn is a seer and believe the fortunes to be bogus. It's why Maveryn carries a Voodoo doll. So she can bind the sim to it and take out her frustration to the more rude customers.
Although what is more interesting is that Maveryn met two very interesting characters. Faelan, who was wearing a towel. She was polite enough about it, but wondered why the werewolf was walking around mostly nude.
She also met THE Count Dracula. Weird that his head was shaved and he wasn't wearing a shirt and maybe thought there was something in the water that made the men just a touch crazy.
In this house, tiny as it is, doesn't really have the room for its occupants. Only one box stall downstairs with room for the pup to sleep and eat and the upstairs is nothing more than a bachelorette pad. Not even enough room to run around the yard. But the owner has a dream. (And incidentally, you'll be seeing her again soon because she is the Legacy Founder in the other story coming out in 2 weeks time.)
Emiliana Shaw dreams of being an amazing horsewoman. She's befriended 3 unicorns, and if that isn't the start of an amazing legacy, what else could be? Only thing, she needs to tame them just enough to ride and lead them. Here she is getting on Starla to practice jumping and riding at the training grounds while Cinnamon, Frostbite and Goldie (the husky) gallop and run around.
It's a bit nerve racking to be a top a unicorn, however, Starla is a sweetheart and doesn't throw her inexperienced rider. Before too long they are jumping over the training jumps like a pro.
Although they do need to take breaks so Starla can give attention to the two young foals. She may not be their mother, but it helps them to have another unicorn to be affectionate with. Emiliana does her best to give them attention and bottle feed them as much as possible. She hopes they one day turn into beautifully grown unicorns, strong and fast.
And when the day is done, they head back home for some grub, some grooming, and a little shut eye.
Next Time . . .
We meet the mysterious Hecate le Fay and two other families. What secrets will we learn of Hecate? Or is she just a harmless and lonely old sim.
Hello all and welcome! Storybrook County (a world I downloaded from My Sims Realty) is finally finished. Well, as finished as it is going to get for now, but the town is ready to play and the empty lots will fill up eventually lol.
So my plans are to do two types of stories. One where I play rotational so you can see the goings on with each town member. Although with Twallan's SP, anything can happen and probably will.
The next type will be a legacy challenge. I've never gone past Gen 3 and it's about time I did. So this post is about meeting the townspeople and then a poll at the end to decide who should be the founder of my new legacy.
One thing to note though. Some of the townspeople are already "established" so they won't be available for the legacy challenge, BUT, they will have legacy opportunities, like polls for the new heirs as they come up.
Now with these two stories, my tentative plan, and I will try uber hard to stick to it, is to update each story once a month about two weeks apart. Lets meet the town!
Astra is a 100% alien. (I maybe got moddy with a few things, hehe). She wants to be a blog artist.
The Fairy Twins
Meet Wintry Bominable and Diana Fawn. Wintry wants to adopt a unicorn and Diana wants to do Magic Makeovers. Fun fact about Diana, not only is she a fairy, she's also an Imaginary Friend. Maybe one day, she'll show you her Toy Form.
Meet Fancy Pants. She's a partner at Fancy Pants Ristorante, and hopes to buy out the other partners to reclaim the business her father lost, but for now works as a lowly kitchen helper.
Faelan is a werewolf and he plans to join the Law Enforcement. Best not to break the law during a full moon
The Blaine Twins
The twins of Christian Blaine and my simself, Nino and Nina Blaine live together with their friend, Jamie Marsters. Nino has joined the Education Career, while wanting to get noticed for his street art, while Nina dreams of being a big time actress in the film career.
Friend to the Blaine twins, and their roommate, Jamie's joined the military career, and wants to be a blog artist.
Probably the only Genie in town, this Genie wants to be popular in all the social groups.
Probably the only Genie in town, this Genie wants to be popular in all the social groups.
Count Dracula Vampyre
This dude can be pretty badass, or tame, mostly tho, he just wants to turn a few sims and drink some blood. And, well, he's also striving to be a Doctor. Makes sense, hospitals have a lot of blood . . .and accidents.
This witch, is evil, and a criminal. In her family, there must be two potential heirs, a battle and either good or evil will win.
Pandora, simply put, just wants to be swimming in Cash.
Once a mannequin, Clarita was mysteriously brought to life. She'd like to adopt a unicorn some day, but as for a career, she's just not sure.
Pyro Blossom has some family in town who aren't Legacy Eligible, but she is and despite her name, she's a firefighter.
She's a military woman, lives alone and is willing and able to kick some major butt. Note: CravenLestat was who I got her from. But she is a townie from another world.
Gabby, as she is known to her friends, looks like a pirate, but has a heart of gold. She's just more interested in the deep sea and the treasures that lie there waiting.
There certainly are a lot of bloggers in this town, Dimitri's also joined the military career.
He's a Private Eye and a great one at that. It's all Elementary!
My Simself''s daughter from a different father and a different game, this nut wants to create 3 monsters.
This girl is lucky. She owns a fully grown Unicorn, and twin unicorn foals, although one of them is a ghost unicorn. Emiliana plans to take the horse racing scene by storm, and introduce a little bit of magic.
Morgan le Fay
No Information Found!
She's a fortune teller and owns the Magics Store. A place to get dragon eggs before they hatch, wands, and alchemist equipment. Might be a voodoo doll or two as well.
On her way to becoming a Martial Arts Master, this cop brings a different style to the team.
The Blossom Household
This household consists of an Alien Fairy and her daughter and Arashi Kazama. Arashi wants to become the leader of the free world and that could be because he doesn't want his friends and roommates to be afraid.
Tink-Ann has joined the military career temporarily, although what she really wants to do is be an inventor.
Trevor was a gift from Ciane. Trevor was adopted by Old Man Spears and when he died, he left everything he owned to the young Trevor. Trevor is still a teenager, hopefully he can handle school and a part time job. Good thing he has that garden.
Talia's got a bit of Simtaly in her and spent nearly all her money on her own Pizzeria.
No Information Found!
Error. Ghost Vondergeist is a Ghost Hunter. Error
Not Legacy Eligible
You'll meet them later.
The Windtree-Haunter family. The mother is a fairy elf and the father is a werewolf. The mother's eldest daughter is a fairy elf for her first husband, but the twins and their toddler son are a mix of the two.
The Deadly Family. Not related to Sin Deadly, but just as mean. A group of mismatched occults that will have you screaming for the hills.
Blossom Family. There are two main branches of the Blossom family, not related to each other, although distantly they could be. This family consists of Sisters: Orchid, Glacier and Pyro (who lives separate from them) and their daughters: Iceis (Glacier's) and Vanilla (Orchid's)
The other Blossom Family consists of Sisters, Apple, Butter and Cherry and toddler Strawberry. While Butter and Apple work in a restaurant, Cherry bought her own, The 3 Cupcakes.
Kennedy Family. Although Rosalyn is my simself's daughter, she is not directly related to this family. This is my simself's family.
The Megacy Family. You would think I would do a Legacy with this family, but no. This family is already big on the horse racing and breeding scene and Emiliana's biggest competition.
The Moore Family. A single dad raising his three sons on his own.
Earlier today, Cat had mentioned a useful cheat on Crinrict's blog that helps with placing lots and correcting if they sink or elevate. I was facing that particular issue, because the world I downloaded doesn't have a lot of large lots and Cat's lot I wanted to use was gonna be a bit weird.
So I checked it out and then looked at a few other helpful tips and such while there. In particular there were a few houses that would not get back in game through the launcher. It wasn't the launcher, it was the sims3pack files themselves.
The tip was to convert them to .package files and add them to the library. My lots have been recovered, thankfully. I saved them fresh, with a few minor adjustments because I built them ages ago and deleted the library files of the old ones. I am just soo relieved that when I remove the old ones, I still have them. I'll probably retweak them, but soo happy!
I am sure everyone following the story is aware the fire is still blazing in Alberta. It seems a good deal of Fort McMurray was spared, however they did lose 2,400 structures. They have no gas, no electricity and no useable water.
Russia, the US, Mexico and other countries have offered assistance in the fire, including Russia's massive Water Bombers, but PM Trudeau has declined the offers stating that all resources in Canada that can be used are being used. That everything that can be humanly done is being done.
This fire is so Huge that it is just not possible to fight this by human effort. It's like spitting on a campfire and expecting it to go out. It has showered a bit, but not enough to make it effective. This fire has been blazing for a week now and it looks like there is no end in sight.
It needs to downpour. C'mon Mother Nature, what are you waiting for?
I have been staying in the loop on the firestorm on and off all day. The inferno has stretched to over 1500 km and could double in size by the end of the day. The inferno could reach Saskatchewan by the end of the day as well.
Firefighters and officials are saying the fire could burn for weeks!!! They are saying the only way to fight this fire effectively is with a massive downpour.
Everyone is on high alert to be able to react quickly depending on wind changes and gusts. They are hoping the inferno moves northeast to a forested area and away from communities.
If you haven't heard, Fort McMurray was mostly lost to an uncontrollable Wildfire. The entire city was evacuated, many residents having left with just their clothes on their back, their families and pets. They drove through falling embers, and felt the heat of the inferno as they evac'd on the only highway that leads into and out of Fort McMurray. If you don't know, the highway only leads North and South. Unfortunately, part of the Highway became blocked and those that went North became trapped and those that went South had to be re-evac'd when the Wildfire changed direction again.
This Inferno is NOT out, it has been going since Tuesday and has turned into its OWN weather system. They CAN NOT seed the clouds anymore than they are and the Water Bombs are NOT helping. This fire is massive and has stretched to approximately 1000 km and could DOUBLE in Size. The entire area has not seen a lot of rain and the forests have become little more than kindling.
Luckily enough, there has been No casualities thus far. Everyone has evac'd safely and those that remained were evac'd.
They have had to airlift 1000's of people out of the area. The devastation is real and heartbreaking.
There is so much that can be said about this. So many stories of people who have lost their possessions. So many that need aid, so many that have lost their homes and have no idea where to go from here. Police are assembling convoys to help vehicles leave the affected areas.
Essential personnel stayed behind to vent the trucks, the oxygen and anything else that could explode near the firefighters. The response was quick, but incredibly heart breaking.
You can see the time line of the disaster
There are a lot of dash cam's capturing just what these Albertans had to drive through.
No sound, but you can see the damage caused by the firestorm
Hopefully it begins to rain.
Hopefully the wind changes in favor of the firefighters long enough to get the fire under control.
Hopefully it is all over soon.
Over in gift and gathering is a thread for an exchange and this is the last gift for DarkVampKiss. I'll be showcasing all of the photos here via slideshow because of how many there are, 79 to be exact. So you can view the thread >>HERE<< with the links to the gifts and the slideshow below.
Yeah, it's been awhile, but lets face it, RL comes first and I'm not going to spend every moment playing the sims, blogging about the sims. I've got goals to attain. But as I am on vacation now, I decided, hey, lets post something and see if anyone is still reading, and if not, it's for my own amusement anyway.
On to some housekeeping stuff and then the "Strangely Good News".
I am over in Gift & Gathering more often than Sims & Modelling. I really just don't want to do the modelling thing, and I like the sense of community there as well. And that's not to say S&M doesn't have that, so don't go putting words in my mouth, I'm not eating alphabet soup here.
As for the New Sims 3 Blog, it did not take off. Only one person has really asked me to do updates for them, and everyone else I had to go find. As we are getting into the Holiday Season and it has been busy, I just don't have time to go hunt CC down to update it. I'll keep it up and if you WANT your CC posted there, as I still have a siggy for it, please message me through that blog.
I think that's all the housekeeping for now.
So for my Strangely Good News: I had another allergy test yesterday. I had been getting hives and thought it was a new allergy, well, apparently to strawberries, and it's a low one. But all the other foods I was allergic to I no longer am. I traded up 4 food allergies for one small one. I can eat strawberries, just not like gobs of it.
The only thing that has me skeptical, is that I am now also allergic to cats, and if that's the case I should be a mess right now, because there is two that lives here and sleeps in my bed. But I don't react to them. And apparently the allergy is a high one, so either she messed up, or I've become immune to them due to constant exposure.
And I'm not allergic to those foods because I've not eaten them in years so the allergy went away, but whose to say whether or not it will stay that way.
Ok, so while I was at work I had one of our tech guys install and load an SSD with Win10 and luckily enough my alienware has two internal storage bays so my old hard drive I am going to reformat it here shortly after I back up my saves, library, mods, etc. And then reinstall everything. I am hoping this is going to work, but it will probably be awhile before I can do any simming stuff so, wish me luck If I run into an issue, for those that I am in a competition, I may just need to make a new sim. I really don't want to load every single one of them to the exchange, if it will even work.
On a brighter note, with the SSD, running TS4 should making the loading times cut down drastically. It takes 11 seconds to load my operating system from there so .. .YAY! Might be worth giving it another chance. It's only the base anyway, and I probably have room for a couple of EPs but I'd have to be real picky.
