Congrats on the job Vid and welcome to the World of Retail. It's pretty fun, especially seeing all the new product coming in. I will say this though: Bite your tongue; take the high road; and smile . .A LOT! It helps! Working in retail often results in Drama with co-workers! And the easiest way to diffuse an upset customer is to listen to them, empathize, and help them to the best of your ability. Take care of the customer as much as you can, because at the end of the day, they are the reason you get paid.
The nice thing is once you get your feet wet, and you see all the departments and what they carry, as long as you are that person who is always available, and always reliable (the one the managers can rely on the most) the doors to new opportunities will open for you. Good luck Vid!
