This was a great Competition. Very Glad I joined. Kaliko took the win for her amazing entry, and I scored the Runner up spot with a new siggy to add to my collection and half a studio rec :)

Now normally I don't join competitions being hosted by someone who is new (has never judged/hosted or competed in a comp before). I usually look for reliability and someone who has been around a while. Course, sometimes those two don't go hand in hand all the time.
So, anyway, I had decided to join The Sims 3 Next Top Model (S3NTM) being hosted by BlossomBrunette. It's her first comp, and mvande is helping her as a second judge. Since the comp has begun, people have been asking about scores (on the original thread) and again on the second thread. Now, I've tried to keep quiet as I'm a competitor. But with three people asking for scores and mvande getting defensive, I decided to say something: "Guys, what is going on here? You need to stop pressuring for scores. Hosting and judging a competition, especially when you are new to it, is an overwhelming experience. Just be patient By that same token, BlossomBrunette, RL comes first, but a quick note that you are busy and will work on scores is a great heads up as well as changing part of the subject that Judging is in Progress. And mvande, no one was blaming anyone about the scores being up or not. There's no need to take a defensive position. It's a turn off, I'm sorry to say. Blossom, take your time and communicate with us. It goes a LONG way If you DO need any help at all, I know a lot of simmers who would be happy to help out from time to time if you need it." I'm not blaming anyone, but I think there needs to be more communication and patience. Although this is just another reminder for why I prefer hosts I'm familiar with. Beech for example is very punctual and strict when she runs her comps and she's usually available. I do enjoy S3NTM, and I am excited to see the future assignments. I got my finale pics done for Iridescent hosted by TheMeeepMoop (Reiya) on the officials. Right now the forums are being a pain in the ass, so I'll post them here for now.
The background is meant to be see through (transparent) and we were to do a collage of all of our assignment pics as well as a fashion head shot and body shot. The name of our model was also to be included in the collage. I'm in the finale with Kaliko and DarleyMikey. After the finale, perhaps I'll do a small scrapbook with comments and my own thoughts as well. _A little while back I decided to give Rexy's SMS Set 7 a try since I had just gotten PSE 8. The model was provided by Evergreen and it was an open edit. The results just came up and I was like O_O I won. Woot! There are two categories: Non-hair editing and Hair editing. I got first place for non-hair editing. Below is the picture and comments. I know I have a long way to go to improve, but I feel like this picture is some of my best work, minus the flaws I need to work on. _ Rexy: Wow LE!! I’m nothing short of captivated by your entry. It makes me think of dark magic…mystical secrets. The picture as a whole emits a very powerful, striking mood. It drew me in the second you submitted it. First of all, I absolutely love what you’ve done with Maria’s dress. She reminds me of a noble sorceress who’s out on an epic quest with her trusty steed. Speaking of which, I love the editing you’ve done on her horse as well. Despite all that, the lines around Maria’s body, and especially in her hair, are a bit sloppy and I see remnants of the original background. The same thing goes for the sky. It looks like you replaced the one in the original picture with the purple sky, and there are some bluish splotches. I’m not as concerned with the ones around the trees (because those are difficult to take care of), as I am with the splotches smack dab in the middle of the open sky. However, your picture has a beautiful color scheme and really tells a story without words. Congratulations on first place!!
Jake: I. Love. The. Dress. It was DEFINITELY awesome, and definitely an editing stride for you. Her bewb area is a little weird with the coloring, but the part you added is fantastic. I agree with Rexy, I LOVE the horse. Beautiful. And is that an Oblivion/Skyrim/Other game background I spy? Your editing was superb, but as pointed out by Rexy, there are white lines around some stuff and there are smudge marks on the bottom, where the rocks are, and that kind of distracted me. This was a very good picture _Been meaning to do this for a while now. My very first siggy for a comp. There was a lot of no shows for this comp, so it ended up being, for the most part a non-elimination comp. The host was SimPixie and in the final three with me was Panda (JKA) and Vid.
I could have done better, but I was happy to make it to the final three. _Why? It's something I ask myself often. Why am I here all alone? Why do I make my way up the jagged rocks that cut at my soul only to weep a river between us? One solitary light stands by my side, flickering in the wind as if it was so fragile it could be snuffed out in an instance. I see you across the way, nothing more than a bag of bones getting closer and closer to your shallow, watery grave. You are consumed! And all I can do is cry, because there is nothing I could have done to save you.
Why do I talk as if you are still alive? Why do I allow you to have so much power over me? You can't hurt me anymore, not physically, and yet, my damage is everlasting. When? When will you leave me alone? _I'm posting this here, because I was inspired to write a story for my entry. Although, it's not for the faint of heart. So, if gore makes you squeamish, turn around now.
Nixi always had the same nightmare. A nightmare that showed her the darker side of her heart. A side of her that chases men down alleyways to strike FEAR into their hearts as she pulls out endless supply of daggers that she uses to slash and tear at her victim's skin, blood oozing from open wounds and cut arteries. Two nameless men, always lay covered in cuts, bruises and dirt that she leaves on the ground, marinating in their own blood, as she moves on to her last victim. He tells her he forgives her. Tells her that he loves her. But all she can hear is his beating heart and all she can see is clear blue eyes. She strikes! She gouges out his eyes and repeatedly starts to stab him, until he lays lifeless. But still that heart, it BEATS. She takes a dagger and plunges it straight through his heart. The fog begins to turn crimson from the blood shed, and she stares ahead as she crouches next to her lover with a fresh dagger in her hand. She spits on him and scoffs at his love. And then. . . . . . . .his heart beats again! _I haven't posted an Assignment pic in ages. This one I am very proud of. It's my first attempt at an Underwater pic. My sim, Eolande Faerydae, is on a quest to the City of Atlantis and finds it.
Taa Daa! _Normally I don't post my entries for comps or my results from them. But this one, I'm proud of. It's a non-editing comp, but the idea I had I couldn't get in game. Sooo, I made what I needed into CC to fit the story.
It's a novel, but I'm proud of it. Every year on the anniversary of Emillye turning Arashi into a vampire, they return to the abandoned Vampire Lair hidden on a small island just 15 km away from Bridgeport. Arashi remembers himself as Captain of the Black Fate, a Pirate ship that held precious cargo. Cargo, a beautiful Vampire maiden being sent to her death. A lifetime with a Vampire Lord she did not love. He remembers her beautiful sunny dress, her long black hair and piercing amber eyes. Emillye, only remembers that after Centuries of being a dead, cold vampire, she never felt more alive than when she gazed upon the human Captain meant to take her to her husband. But as Fate would have it, the ship was suddenly cast about as a storm descended upon them. No survivors save Arashi and Emillye. Together they found refuge in the abandoned Vampire Lair on the small island, just 15 km away from Emillye's betrothed. They remember spending the time talking, admiring and loving each other. When Emillye sensed her betrothed coming for her, she pleaded with Arashi to save her. To not let him take her. Arashi, having grown fond of the maiden Emillye, promised her he would protect her. When the Vampire Lord came to collect his bride to be, Arashi challenged him to a fight of certain death. When all looked lost for Arashi, Fate stepped in once again, and Arashi was able to slew the Vampire Lord. Arashi then plunged his sword into the ground and knelt on one knee in front of his Lady Love and vowed to always protect, love and honor her for as long as he lived. Emillye asked, "Would you give me forever instead?" Arashi answered, "Aye! And beyond that!" Emillye bestowed upon Arashi the gift of vampirism and married him under the Lunar Eclispe, a sign of good fortune to her people. They remember the beginning of their lives together and forever. Always. _Ok, so Before I got the pose for My Modifiied Beauties Entry in the post below, I was debating the second pic. The first one is just for fun ;) Nudge Nudge Wink Wink!! LOL
