Gah, it is driving me crazy. I really wanna play but after getting the game when it was released on Tuesday I haven't been able to play . .at all!
I've been busy working and my next day off isn't until Tuesday. I am luckily finished with all of my competitions I was currently in. Just waiting for results on two, although one may be awhile as Vid is having some computer issues so I am not too worried about that one. I know she'll have them up when ready. Photogenic I am anxious about. I have been in the Top 2 throughout the entire competition so I really want to show off my achievement for that one as I hardly ever am lol. So once I get IP installed, I will be removing all of my poses and anything I don't need and just running CC Skin, Eyes, a few hairs and clothes and Twallan's Mods and a Weather Mod. The rest will be added back the next time I join a competition. I am going to take a break though, I really want to focus on the Just Sims Magazine, hosting my own Competition and getting back to work on my Castaway story. I have the pictures and I am far ahead in the game, just haven't had a chance to really sit down and write out the next 3 parts. I am going on Vacation starting July 6th, so I will have more time to play in between visiting with Dad who I haven't seen in 5+ years. I can't wait to really sit down and play and really explore the new stuff. I've been avoiding the threads. Plus the bonus is I have the Limited Edition so the Castaways are going to get a more realistic setting!

Congrats on the job Vid and welcome to the World of Retail. It's pretty fun, especially seeing all the new product coming in. I will say this though: Bite your tongue; take the high road; and smile . .A LOT! It helps! Working in retail often results in Drama with co-workers! And the easiest way to diffuse an upset customer is to listen to them, empathize, and help them to the best of your ability. Take care of the customer as much as you can, because at the end of the day, they are the reason you get paid.
The nice thing is once you get your feet wet, and you see all the departments and what they carry, as long as you are that person who is always available, and always reliable (the one the managers can rely on the most) the doors to new opportunities will open for you. Good luck Vid! I actually have happier news, but I felt the need to share this first, Sometimes, you just never know that the person you pass on the street, or on the bus with you, the one you barely glance at is the person that needs the most help. Today on my way home, sitting on the bus, a woman demands to go to the hospital. She overdosed on sleeping pills and who knows what else . .all in the attempt to end her existence. A girl called 911, and the paramedics met us at subway. She told them what she took, but that she changed her mind. The young people on the bus couldn't fathom that someone would want to kill themselves. I told them that if you are depressed enough, desperate enough, you would do anything to end the pain and misery. The woman looked pregnant, and when the pills began to kick in, she became desperate enough to live, hysterical enough to kick people in to gear.
I remember when I was in elementary on a field trip and our teacher had said to wave at the people. She said that sometimes, when someone sees someone smiling and waving at them, it brightens their day and they will wave back. So we tried it and sure enough a woman waved back to us. You just never know what someone is going through or how close they are to ending it all. Sometimes all someone needs is a smile and a wave, to feel a sense of acknowledgement and maybe, just maybe, you'll save a life. |
