So, I have been inspired to create a new home for my sims, which is going to end up being a luxury mansion. It has a five car garage, with a possible teen room above the garage or a man (or woman) cave. It has a large courtyard with a fountain. and a big huge yard for a pool, an enclosed porch, etc. The rooms that are on my list to do is a library/study, a music room, a formal living room, a formal dining room, an eat in kitchen, numerous bedrooms with a master ensuite and probably some secret rooms and multi-basements (one being a wine cellar underneath the kitchen) and possibly multi level. Right now I have the outer shell done. As you can see I haven't really done much with the window placements or anything. I am also currently building in Dragon Valley. So in this green space, I was thinking having an orchard. I was also thinking perhaps a horse stable? I am trying to add a lot into it, but I think if we take a look at the other green space... I have enough room for a covered porch, pool and horse stable. It's not like the pool or the enclosed porch need to take up a huge area, but it does need some room for a bar and some seated areas. I've also never done any attic space, so I think I may try something there as well because I do have the space. If I turn the space over the garage into a teen space, or whatever, I could also turn it into an apartment of sorts with a bedroom in the attic space. I also kinda like the idea of a kids space upstairs in the attic with maybe two bedrooms, a small bathroom and a small play area.
Talking about it definitely makes it exciting, pulling it off just right will be the challenge. But so worth it in the end. I will update as I go.

So it looks like I may have been having an allergic reaction and that it wasn't a throat virus after all. The red spots (hives?) and swelling in my throat have gone down. Thing is, I am pretty sure this is a new allergy as I had been developing hives on my neck when I ate. Right now I am living off of smoothies and Breakfast Essentials as it I know I can handle it and I have been fine ever since.
I will be taking a trip to an allergist out of province, so I'll update later on that. So I ended up getting a sore throat on Friday. Got on some medicine and Halls and was on the mend from the cold/flu by Monday. Only thing was I wasn't eating much as my tongue and throat were(are) enlarged. It didn't hurt after my throat was no longer sore, but it was 3 days of trying to eat one meal a day. It got to the point that anything solid that went in my mouth was spit out. It was basically like, "Nope! Ain't happenin'"
Today I went into work tried to eat a bit of leftover pizza and same result. So day four and very little food and I was pretty shaky and pale, going back and forth between pale and flushed in seconds. I did not even make it through my shift. I was gone before the morning meeting was over. Had to wait at the hospital for quite a few hours before I was seen. It appears I have a virus, not strep thankfully. I gave a throat swab but I can't take much for it until they know what they are dealing with, but even then he said that viruses don't typically show up on swabs. He said eat ice cream and pudding and other such stuff and then just ride out the virus for now and results should be at my family doctor's by Friday. Can't say I'm complaining about the prescribed food *cheesy grin*. The New Sims 3 Blog just went up today and is still under construction. I do have a bit done, including the Home Page being a new Feature Wall, my new decor Paintings hosted on the blog, and About Page and Contact Form. If you know of anyone looking for exposure, please direct them to here: http://thenewsims3blog.weebly.com/
So this Photo is from Primadonna Cycle 1 and is the first assignment. We had to have our model in an evening gown in a place you wouldn't normally do a photoshoot. I was originally going to go in game and do a graffitti'd alley, but couldn't get it just right so, I found this picture and pasted my sim into the background. Most times I prefer in game photos and still pasting the model in for more creative control, but I do like this photo.
For this Throwback Tuesday, we have another competition by Vid, this one being the boys edition of Little Miss Twisted. This was A7 and it was a lot of fun working with the B&W twist that Vid gave me due to almost being eliminated in A6. I painstakingly worked on this pic to get it just write and worthy of a magazine cover. I wouldn't have done it any differently as it is by far my favorite magazine cover I have ever done. Scores will follow after the Pic. 2nd LE

Love that you went all out with the magazine cover look right down to the bar code even! I do think you could of fit the words in better. They look cut off on the side even in large view. Anyway, the fashion aspect of this assignment was executed well. The pointy ears wasn’t really approved, so I take 1 messily point off. lol I also wasn’t crazy about the makeup or the hair. It came off as too much. Maybe less makeup or a different hairstyle would of read better. Even a much brighter shade for his hair would of helped! I did think the city background was too an odd choice for such whimsical style. A forest or something a little more exciting would of read better in B&W behind your model. No matter I really love all the detail and the concept! With a usually hard punishment and tough competitors, you did quite well! apocalypticautumn Autumn 100/100 Overall Picture 30/30 Creativity 20/20 Creep Factor 150/150 Total +10 Fashion=160 WOAHWOAHWOAH :o As a judge, I'm usually not the one who just hands out flawless scores [in fact, I'm pretty sure this is the only one I've ever given!] but you captured the fashion side of this assignment perfectly while still keeping the creepy spirit of the competition - and you definitely deserve this perfect score. ☠Added Total: 305 ☠ Incidentally, I also won second place from the competition overall. I'm so glad I started to title the modelling pics with the name of the competition and the assignment, otherwise I'd have no idea what the picture was about. This was one of JKAmaryllis' competitions back in 2011. The first assignment was to take something that was always overdone as an assignment and troll it, and we also had to write a blurb (which I found; it follows the picture): Represent This!
I’ve been as guilty as other hosts for using the color assignment. It’s an easy concept to come up with but a pain when you’re the one that has to do the assignment. The reasons to hate it: whether you are representing one or three colors, it takes away a competitor’s creative license. Especially if you can only use those colors, and sometimes the colors given clash but they want you to make it work. How? By divine intervention. Or they want an explanation of what the color represents which means researching and coming up with the perfect story of what the color means to your model and it gets so tedious after awhile with no originality in sight, because they all end up looking the same after awhile. Well, Represent This! JKA Creativity: 29 Relevance: 29 Quality: 28 Total: 86 Comments: I love the edgy pattern in the background and her pose. Love how there is no rhyme or reason to the color scheme and as a whole it's just kind of in your face. One thing that is distracting me a little is the bottom of her skirt.. Maybe if it had been shot at a slightly different angle then you wouldn't notice the awkward area below her hand. Sun Creativity 25/30 Relevance to assignment 27/30 Quality/composition 30/30 Total 82/90 I agree that that assignment is overplayed and stifles creativity! This picture is stunning! Your model looks absolutely gorgeous! There are so many colors going on and she actually pulls it off. I really don’t feel like it is ridiculing the assignment, looks too good. Total: 168 So this was one of Vid's Competitions back on the old forum. Before we started using one thread to house the entire competition and before pose player. I managed to track down the old thread and find what the assignment was about: " Welcome to the wild wild west that is modeling! 2 down and 14 to go! For this assignment you are to make your model over into iconic cowboy image! You be created and put your own crazy spin, but make sure the wild west is what the picture portrays. Fail to impress me and your gunslinger may be pushing up daisies or in this case eliminated! Requirements -Must be cowboy attire and have a setting to match! Tips -Doesn't necessary have to wear a cowboy hat. They had derbies and such back then or go with none. -Ever heard of Aliens and Cowboys. Hollywood is always mixing two genres up! Rules -Only little editing is allowed. No putting your sims on backgrounds, no pasting of objects in pics. You may change the color and such as making it black or white, etc. You may also edit constrast and brightness, but use what you have in game. Will allow little minor fixes, but thats it! *lettering may be allowed in some assignments* - No copying - CC is allowed - Extras are allowed, but model must be the focus of the pic - Keep to the assignment -Be polite and have fun! Anyone breaking these rules will be eliminated!!! Judging Just me, Vid! Will be guest judges from time to time. Since it's only me though you must work harder to impress! Bawhahaha! Scoring __/100 (be base off pose, setting, model, and attire) comments". I even found the scores (posted after the piccie) 2nd LadyEmillye
98/100 I loooove this picture! Everything is just perfect and your model looks great! The setting, the props, everything just fits! Awesome job! Woot! 2nd place! Pretty good for beginner editing skills, no pose player, and using two vampires (Arashi, the model) and my simself! With my brother moving back in with me (because otherwise he'd have been out on the street) and the snowstorm, I completely forgot about Throwback Tuesday. So I am going to add a special Throwback for this one. I am hoping I can still remember where I hosted the issues. I know this one was issuu, but right now I can not remember where I had the other ones.
EDIT: The links have actually been deleted by the website, so they are well and truly gone :( I never would have gotten into making CC if not for the Mares. I'm still very much an amateur as creating new meshes is something I can't do, but I do enjoy what I can do. Creating CC for TS4 is way easier than TS3, but I have enjoyed the requests I had gotten when I was more actively making CC for TS3.
Like this one here which is a male and female version of t-shirts for Flux Magazine when it was around. I still actually have the links for the downloads of these shirts. |
